at Truckee Meadows Community College and computer programming at the University of Nevada, Reno.

My favorite story is from a company here in town who
had a local uncertified guy install his network. Everything seemed OK and the
owner was proud of the money he saved, but when we came in to fix a problem the original
installer couldn't figure out- a simple VPN setup- We found the company was sharing their entire hard
drive over the Internet. So basically anyone who wanted could just browse the files
by mapping a drive to the company's domain name - We immediately fixed the security and reconfigured
the the firewall, but in the two months the guy was online - he could have given away the entire shop
and all the records of his clients. Not good business!!
So the lesson here is simple and it applies to all areas in life.
Use Certified Professionals who have current credentials. A good analogy would be
like going for surgery, but choosing to go to Mexico and using a back alley butcher just to save a few bucks.
